Latitude & Longitude values are replaced with Null on import

The data type automatically is set to "String" on import and the values go to Nullwhen I change data type to "Real".

My columns in the .xlsx do not have any leading spaces or special characters. I'm actually using values from a dataset that was exported from a Spotfire map.

Could it be the negatives in the Longitude

I can't import as String as I need to do calculations on the Lat/Long values.

While importing your excel file, can you try to set the data type (in the data preview) of your latitude and longitude columns to Real as shown in the screenshot below
