I'm attempting to create a calculated column that returns a value if an existing column has a specific word in it. I have seen other posts use "~=" but that doesn't seem to work for me. It returns an error that says "could not find function '~="Looking to create something along these lines...

when [fruit]~="red delicious apple" then "apple"

when [fruit]~="gala apple" then "apple"

My relevant column data type is a text string.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you try to use this expression for the new column:

case

when [fruit] = "red delicious apple" then "apple"

when [fruit] = "gala apple" then "apple"

end
