Manoj Chaurasia
I have sample latitude & longitude data for individual home address. Now how do i map that individual Lat & Lon in SPOTFIRE Map chart. This is data is specific to United States. When i tried to map
Manoj Chaurasia
Looks like the numbers are stored as TEXT in Excel. These need to be converted to "real" or "decimal" in Excel first. Then load the table into SF and make sure SF sees the LAT LON as REAL. Once in SF go to the properties for this layer. Go to DATA and set Coordinate reference system to EPSG:4326-WGS 84. Then go to POSITIONING and scroll to the bottom and set COORDINATE COLUMNS to the LAT LON columns and TURN OF AGREGATIONS! Below is how it looks. Manoj Chaurasia
P.S. Here is a modified version of your Excel to try.
Manoj Chaurasia
I tried that also and the LAT & LON columns were empty. Had to convert in Excel. Here is a tip if you work with Excel a lot. Get ASAP Utilities for Excel, free for personal use. It's a life saver in Excel and awesome for converting numbers in text format back to numbers! christopher sawtelle 2
You may need to change the projection from geocode to using the lat long. I don't remember off hand where it is, not in front of SF right now, but under properties it's one of the first couple sections in the list on the left and all the way at the bottom of the page. Someone else may be able to tell better.
Philippe Verspeelt
If the latitude and longtitude columns are named as such they should be picked up automatically by Spotfire. But if they are not, go to the layer settings, positioning and at the bottom, select the appropriate columns for longtitude and latitude. See attached screenshot. There are also some quick reference topics available on map charts for further info.

Luca de Falco 4
Maybe you have substitute point with comma And set the column as real(and format with 5 decimals)

Manoj Chaurasia
Now my next task is to find the distance between the address based on the Latitude & Longitude. If all my address are located with in a 1 Mile or Kilometer all those Markers has to turn into RED color. I am currently working on this. I will upload the info once i get the result. Gihane GHANEM
Hello , I had the same problem, i went to my excel file where my data is located, i change the long & lat from " lat:44.20, long: 0.62" to "lat:44,20, long: 0,62" (make sure you put a comma and not a dot ) and select for long & lat instead of while importing the data to spotfire and it got resolved. Alexandria Shrake 2
Hey! I have mapped it to lat and long & have WGS 84 for GPS as my projection system. I still can't get it to project correctly. Any ideas as to what I'm missing
