Can I work with a pivoted and original version of my datatable

I have pages of visualizations that were made with my original data, but I need to pivot to create the new visualization I need.

When I pivot, all the visualizations will pull from the pivoted version and I can't find a setting to be able to work with both versions.

 

Is this possible

Add a new data table, choose data table already in your analysis, and then pivot the new table. Finding the "data table already in your analysis" option is different in different versions. In X its under "Other" when you add a new data table.

When I do this, the visualizations try to pull from the new pivoted data table

If you have a visualization, pointed to table A.

 

And then you add a NEW table, called table B.

 

The visualizations pointed to table A will not switch over to table B

Hi Michael,

From the Data Canvas, adding the data table again will attempt to append onto the original version. Since they are identical there is no change. Pivoting from the Data Canvas changes existing visualizations.

From adding a new "Table" visualization... pivioting this pivots the original version and changes existing visualizations as well.

when you add the data table again, choose add as new data table.  Then pivot that new table.  Then you can build visualizations from that NEW pivoted table. See attached screenprint

I did not realize that rectangle with my 2nd imported file's name was a button.
