Vipin K
Hi, I have 2 questions. 1) I am new to TIBCO Spotfire. Previously I was using IBM Cognos Impormptu application for our reporting needs. In Impromptu we had the option of putting a pick list (A text file containing multile values) as filter. But, in Spotfire I am unable to do that. When I am creating an information link and in filter if I want to have multiple values I will have to do it by selecting values and entering them manually. Is there an option to attach a text file or excel file from which Spotfire will select the values whose details will be pulled in the final output Example: I have 100 telephone numbers and I want to get details of customer name and address. So if put a pick list of 100 telephone numbers, I should get customer details. 2) In impromtu filter I can exclude certain values so that they will not appear in the out put. Example: I am trying to get details of 100 telephone numbers again but I don't want them to include cerain area codes. In Impromptu filter, I can do it like "Area code not in and put type in the area codes I want to exclude. Thanks for your help.
Khushboo Rabadia
1) You can make use of Parameterized information link and on demand data table so it only fetches details of Area codes provided from excel file imported in other data table https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/10.3.0/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire... https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/10.3.0/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire... 2) You can add column from excel data table to table populated using Information link. Then create calculated column such that case when [Area Code Excel]=[Area Code IL] then "Filter" else "No Filter" endThen go tofilter panel and search for that above calculated column filter, select only "No Filter". Hence, records other that Area codes in Excel would be visible rest will be filtered out https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/10.3.0/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire... https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/10.3.0/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire... https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/10.3.0/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire... Tyger Guzman 2
You could also utilize a multi line input document property so users could paste in their values. Using the same method from the other answer using that document property as the parameter to your information link.
