What is the syntax of tibcospotfire protocol handler and how to use it

Hello all,

 

I want to make my web application launch spotfire desktop application installed on user's machine and open a specific diagram or connect to a specific source.

I found there is a tibcospotfire protocol handler that is registered as part of installing Spotfire desktop applicaiton but I couldn't locate any documentation on how to use it and specify what should Spotfire open.

Can you please either point me to documentation or provide me with examples on using it
