How to mark values in a line chart when the data is external

Hi,

I have a requirement where i need to mark and highlight the values of last 2 quarters within a line chart.

I have a script which works absolutely fine but now i need to change the data to external and the script returns null values. It does not give any error but nothing is displayed on the chart.

My Question :

When the data is external, how can i "click on a button" to display the values of last 2 quarters in a line chart

I am using Spotfire 7.11 and SAP HANA.

Currently it is not possible to read marked data from IronPython scripting when the data is external. There is a workaround listed here in this article, see if that helps.
