Alerting Framework New Alert Button is not getting enabled

Recommended Posts

Hi Madhavi,

Can you please confirm which button is grayed out?

is it this one 👆 ? If yes then you should ensure you have an analysis file opened

or that one? 👆 ?
In this case, the first thing is to check the below settings

but also ensure the alerting REST API is up and running by testing the following URL

HTTP(s)://<servername>/alerting/api/status.html. where the <servername> is where you've installed the alerting services.

you should obtain something like this

Let me know if after doing these checks you still have an issue.

Alerting installation and configuration is completed and status is true.

But when we open the manage alerts option in analyst to the create new alert is not enabled.

Error also not generating in error log.

Hi ,

Thanks for detailed explanation.

I find out what is the issue , I have tried creating alerts on Spotfire provided sample report . When I tried to create alerts on dashboard saved in library it worked.

But while executing the alert I received attached  error in log. So I have added .sdn to deployment area and updated automation service. After that I am receiving 404 error and unable to create alerts again.

Please find error screenshots and let me know if you have any idea on those errors.

Thanks,

Madhavi

Hi Madhavi

Can you confirm that the status page is still showing green, all good?  It's odd that you would get a 404 if the server is up and running and you were previously able to see the Alerts Panel.

Also, can you confirm exactly what step in the process you get the 404 error.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Madhavi

I just noticed in the two screenshots you sent me that the hostnames in the server URL's are different.  Did you install the alerting war file under the Spotfire server or on a standalone tomcat instance?

Cheers
Dave
