How can we join an excel with an oracle connection?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

How can we join an excel with an oracle connection?

When I add the first data source (excel) in a Spotfire project, the system allows me to join other source (excel, oracle..) but when I add first a Oracle connection, I can not join a new data file or connection.

I mean, in the data designer, there re no the "+" button (images attached).

THANKS!!!!

Hello,

A likely explanation could be that your connection to Oracle is set as external (i.e in-database).

You can read about the various restrictions/considerations when using in-database database in the manual:

https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/12.5.0/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire-analyst_UsersGuide/data/data_working_with_in-database_data.htm

If you use internal (in-memory) instead, you should get the missing button/functionality.
