I've moved from SpotFire 10 to 12. Before, I was able to reload my Excel data source even if the .xlsx File was opened in Excel. This was very convenient to modifiy some data in Excel and promptly see it in SpotFire. Now it looks not possible, right ?

Hello Christian,

I just want to mention that I just did a quick test using Spotfire Analyst 12.0 LTS (HF-013) and 12.4 (HF-001) and was unable to reproduce the behavior you described in either version - it works fine for me (but it's possible that the Excel file might be locked under certain conditions). So, as Tejas suggested, it would be really good if you could open a case for this so it can be looked into in more detail.

No problem! I have recently encountered another variant of lock (I'm simply assuming that the issue you encountered is in some way related to locks) when using Excel files (from IronPython) which is why I'm particularly interested in learning more about your issues.

Excellent! For anyone else having problems finding how to create cases on the TIBCO Support Site, make sure to login (click Login in upper right corner) first, and then, in the My Cases Section, you should see "+ New Case" which is used to create a new case.
