Calculated Column Speed VS column created by python data function

I am trying to do some processing about 202211 to date time, I found I could use data function to create or using calculated column , any advantages in different ways or which is faster processing time

I am not aware of specific timings, but if possible I would always calculate a column using a Spotfire expression (calculated column) instead of using a data function, as the latter always involve some exchange of data and set up time. It depends on what else you want to do to the data as well though.
