How to schedule a data function through Automation services in Tibco Spotfire

I have created a data function in Spotfire which fetches data from JIRA portal and replaces the existing table in the dashboard(The data function takes around 45 mins to execute locally and around 2 hrs on server). Now the requirement is to schedule this data function and save the resulting data table as an sbdf file in library so that we can refresh the main dashboard with this SBDF file later. (Data function is set to refresh automatically). I tried creating an automation job for opening the dashboard and saving the data as an sbdf file but the automation job opens the file and saves the data in sbdf without letting the data function execution to complete. With this approach latest data is not getting saved in the sbdf file. Is there a workaround for this?
