Xav Dou
Hello, I have an issue to convert STRING to REAL. I have a datatable with all the columns in STRING format and some of these columns have "numbers" (for example, 12345 or 12345.99). At that time, the decimal separator is a dot (.) BUT when i import the data into Spotfire, it automatically changes to dot to comma... and the datatype is still STRING. The issue comes when i want to convert these columns to REAL. I go inthe canva of the Spotfire report and i chose the transformation "change data type". The numbers without comma are correctly converted BUT the numbers with comma disappear. It returns blank value. (see screenshot). Any idea how to solve that please
Gaia Paolini
it would depend on your Window region setting, in your case it does not recognize dot as a number separator. Can you try changing it Alternatively it might be easier to turn all dots to commas in the input dataset (if this is a one-off)
