SQL Database with blob/binary/hex data which contains rich text => conversion to string in a readable text

Hi all,

 

i have a SQL Database which has a column which contains blob/binary/XML Data, e.g.0x3C703E4465736372697074696F6E206F66206576656E743C62723E3C2F703E.

I would like to convert this to text like "Description of event" in my Spotfire Reports.

Do you know a solution to make this work

PS: i tried Base64Encode/Decode, change the format in Spotfire from blob to string. a conversion function i have found on google was only converting hex to decimals, what did not work as i have string data.
