Extract data and perform data analysis at the same time

I'm currently using 10.3.9 version of Spotfire and I notice that in the previous version of spotfire (7 or earlier) both data extract and data analysis (in the excel spreadsheet) could be done together but in a newer version of 10.3.9, I have to extract all data first before I start my reporting visualization. Am I missing any configuration

Are you referring to the default visualization that could be displayed when data was opened in Spotfire If so that option was added back into the program starting with 11.2.
