How to change ther range of an axis using action control scripts

Hello,

I am looking to change the min/max values of the x-axis of a line chart using different buttons. For example, a YTD button, would make the min value of the x-axis equivalent to first day of the year, and the max value would be the latest date of the year. This would be a similar functionality to that of finance sites that show trend lines for different date ranges.

Any/all suggestions are appreciated.

therange = AxisRange(-1000, 1000)
