Line Chart Date Sorting

I have a line chart and it is sorting out of date order. How do I get it to sort by date order

How it is sorting

1/2019 10/2018 11/2018 12/2018 2/2018 2/2020 3/2019 4/2018 4/2020 5/2019 6/2018 6/2020 7/2019 8/2018 8/2020 9/2019

 

How I want it sorted

1/2018 4/2018 8/2018 12/2018 1/2019 4/2019 8/2019 12/2019 1/2020 4/2020 8/2020 12/2020

I want it to display in the correct order Does not have to display all of them can do from 1/2018 - 9/2020 in 4 month increments. Please help having troublefiguring this out.

It appears that it is sorting your dates as if they have a datatype of String instead of DateTime. Convert the string to valid dates and they should sort in chronological order
