#OSISoft - Tibco Spotfire Analyst connection to OSI PI and AF Server

Hello Community,

I am OSISoft PI Administrator (with a very little knowledge about Spotfire) and our company is using Tibco Spotfire to get PI data in Tibco report.

I have a requirement to migrate the PI Server to a new machine with a change in the PI Server name and IP.

However, I will keep using the Old PI Server ID and DNS aliasing so that any traffic hitting to old machine name will auto direct to new machine and hence users don't have to worry about the migration/new Server name/IP.

I would like to understand how Tibco Spotfire connects to OSI PI Server.

I noticed that the moment I connect to a PI Server from Spotfire, it add the PI Server in PI SDK Known Server Table.

So can I assume that Tibco Spotfire connects and communicate to OSI PI Server completely through PI SDK
