Is there a way to copy map layer to from one Map chart to another

Hello,

 

We have to add a total of 30 Feature Map layers to a total of 8 Map charts in our analysis file. My plan is to add all of those 30 layers to one 1 map chart and make sure there are all set up property (i.e. go through the layer properties) and then copy those layers to the other 7 Map charts

 

From what I have seen online, there doesn't seem to be an API to duplicate a map layer which is ok as the Analyst can do that:

 

 

 

So my plan is to duplicate all of the map layers from the first Map chart and then use a script to "move" those to another map chart. Would that be possible

 

If somebody has faced a similar issue before on the above please do share any advice you may have.
