creating a gantt chart, plotting start and end date

I have y-axis columns forphase and activity, and I have x-axis columns for start date, end date, and duration for every activity.

I've seen the article byVishakha Mujooand I've made the basic viz but I still can't figure out how to connect the line from start to end date for each activity. I can only plot a single symbol in each row, either start or end date.I appreciate your tips.
