How to access the external data from the Spotfire desktop

Hi guys,

I like to connect the third party toolfrom theSpotfire desktop. The third-party toolprovides both the JDBC and ODBC driver. So, what are the methods available toconnect to a third-party tool from Spotfire desktop Please share stepsor recommend to connect the third party tool.

Using the ODBC administrator create an DSN for your third party odbc driver.

1. Now in Spotfire go to File - open -Other

2. Select "Load data with ODBC,OLE DB .. data provider"

3. Select the Data Source type to ODBC Data provider in the next dialog.

4. choose the DSN and other details.

You should be able to load the data now

It's possible to use jdbc connection in spotifire desktop

It would not be possible to use JDBC connection as this requires Spotfire server and the Spotfire desktop client is a stand alone application
