how can i improve this expression : If [column x]='name', give me [column b], if not " ") in order to that one works

Dear all,

I'm a very new user of spotfire. I'm convinced that spotfire is the future regarding what we are doing on excel.

However I have no knowledge of how create expression on spotfire as I do on excel.

in order to create a calculated column I would like to know what is the expression for :

in the calculated column : If in [Column x] there is a precise name let's say 'dog', give me the content of column b, if not leave an empty space

Try this -

If([column x]="dog", [column b], " ")Note: this probably requires your [column b] being a string column. Otherwise, you could use -

If([column x]="dog", [column b])
