TIBCO BW5 and BW6 are platforms aim at Integration and Application Development. TIBCO Spotfire aim at Analytics and Data Science. Two different areas of Software and IT. so please be consious of that. For TIBCO BW both 5.x and 6.x/Container Edition , you will need to learn about XML/XSD, also about WebServices. You will also need to read a lot about EAI, SOA as principles in how you would approach the problem. You can download a trial version to start using Quick Start examples, but also i'dencourage you to go for a TIBCO BW Bootcamp / Training.
