Scott
Hello, I am sharing a dxp file with a customer using the latest version of Spotfire 14.4.0, however, the customer is using an older version of Spotfire and is unable to open the file. They are using version 12 and can't upgrade. Is there any possibility to save a dxp in version 14.4.0 that can be opeened with version 12 so I don't need to remake the file with an older version? Thanks, Scott
David Boot-Olazabal
Hi Scott, There is no possibility to do so with Spotfire 14.4. When saving a dxp file, it is downward compatible with three versions: - the version it was created in (of course I would say); - the previous version (in your case 14.3); - the previous LTS version (in your case 14.0 LTS). Upward compatibility lasts much longer though (you can still open dxp files from version 5.5 in Spotfire 14.4). What is possible to do, is to use the 'serverless' Analyst client of Spotfire 14.0 as intermediate solution. As you don't need to add a server since this version, you're not obliged to install a whole Spotfire environment. Just download the Analyst client and you should be able to get going. Dxp files form this 14.0 version, are compatible with Spotfire 12.5 and Spotfire 12.0. Kind regards, David
