Accessing TERR Engine from C#

I am working with Spotfire Analyst 14.0.0 and I would like to be able to access the TERR engine from C#.  Specifically, I would like to be able to run R scripts supplied as text in the TERR engine and then gather the results to create new tables or columns in existing tables.  The intent is similar to registering a data function, but would be automated through C# rather than operating through the GUI.   At this point, I have the ability to prepare the R script and I have the framework to parse results into new tables/columns, but I've been unable to find how to programmatically interact with the TERR engine.  I've searched the Spotfire documentation and I find very little information on TERR specific functionality in the API.  Any guidance is very much appreciated.
