Bony Sudirman Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Hi All, we have a plan to create new server and drop the old one, the new server will use existing current license is there any step how to apply and configure new server using current license. Thank You,
Alain Martens Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Hi Bony, Yes you can reuse the configuration of your current server during the installation of the new one. See here: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire_server/latest/doc/html/TIB_sfire_server_tsas_admin_help/server/topics/installation_of_spotfire_server_during_upgrade.html Please follow these steps to guide you through the process: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire_server/latest/doc/html/TIB_sfire_server_tsas_admin_help/server/topics/upgrading_spotfire.html Good luck! Thanks, Alain
Bony Sudirman Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 Hi Alain, Thank you for prompt response, from you explanation will do as upgrade even we will install same version of Spotfire server as old one in new server machine. so seem like upgrade server not in place but upgrade/ transfer license and configuration we do side by side using Spotfire Server upgrade tool ? Thanks, Bony
Alain Martens Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Hi Bony, You're welcome. Keep in mind that most Spotfire configuration resides in the Spotfire Database like Spotfire library content, users, groups and their assigned licenses. So when you use the upgrade tool, make sure you connect your new Spotfire instance to the same Spotfire database as your current server (please make sure to turn off your current Spotfire Server first). Since you'll be installing the same version of the Spotfire Server on the new machine, you don't have to upgrade your Spotfire Database. Thanks, Alain
