Statistics Services URL configuration issue

I am not able to link to theStatistics Services from a remote Spotfire Client. I have Statistics Services installed onWindows Server 2012 along with a Spotfire Server instance. Even though I designate the the full path of the server during installation such as:

http://servername.domain.net:8080/SplusServerI cannot reach the Statistics Services home page from a remote computer.

From the virtual machine where the Statistics Services is intalled I can reach the home page through servername:8080/SplusServer but not through the full url path. I have the port 8080 open through the firewall.

I have also checked in theC:Program FilesTIBCOstatsvcs70SplusServerconfspserver file, the service.url property is correctly set up.

I have tried to change the full server name (servername.domain.net) to the IP address --> service.url=http://10.x.x.x:8080/SplusServer but no luck.

Also, when I try to change the content of this spserver file to let's say service.url=http://differentServerName:8080/SplusServer;then save the file and restart the service I can still reach the Statistics Services home page through theservername:8080/SplusServer but not through the differentServerName/SplusServer.

It seems like the change made through spserver file does not get picked up at all.

At the same time I have no problem reaching the Spotfire Server Admin page through servername.domain.net:80 from either the VM or from a remote computer.

Obviously as a resultno Spotfire Client can link to the Statistics Services.

Is there anything else to be done so that the spserver service.url property gets picked up or is there another place wehere this gets defined

Is it possible that something got left behind after the first incorrect installation (when the default service.url was not changed to the full path) and that keeps 'bleeding' into every reinstallation attempt (I have tried to reinstall it a few times until I figured out about the spserver config file).

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

As for the service.url file here is a note from the documenation-

The URL identified byservice.urlis composed of the server name and port number specified in the installation, and of the service name, which is also specified in the installation. You should not change the value forservice.url.

Reference-https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sf_statsvcs/7.11.0/doc/html/TIB_sf_statsvcs_7.11.0_installation/GUID-BD21D1FE-5525-4F10-97B0-7DA669D5DEB7.html

You mentioned you can reach the Spotfire Admin server fine from a remote computer. Are this server and the statistical server installed on the same machineIf yes then there might be an issue with the port being blocked from the remote computer.

If you can browse the SplusServer url locally then the server itself has no issues and your installation is rightly done. Something on the remote computer seems to be blocking the host or the url.

You can enable developer tools in the browser (open the browser - hit F12 - Click Console) and then browse the SplusServer url to see if any errors are logged that indicate what the issue might be.

Also the Statistical server url needs to be set in the Spotfire Client - Preferences (Please refer the attached screenshot for reference) for it to pass on the requests to the server than the local terr engine serving the requests.
