DivyaJyoti Rajdev
We can add data table from a shapefile (*.shp) in spotfire by Add data table. But somehow I can't export the geometries from the table to any of the suggested formats. So my question is: how to export the shapefile geometries to a format that can successfully be read in as a geometry column in spotfire Tried *.sbdf, doesn't work. Manoj Singh
Whats is the Spotfire version in which you are trying the things

Kirsten Smith (she/her)
I did a quick test of this in 7.9 and it worked as expected. I opened a .shp file in Spotfire, exported it as a .sbdf file, then opened the .sbdf file in Spotfire and it showed the geometry column data correctly. When you open your .sbdf file in Spotfire do you get any warnings/errors If you look at the data in a table visualization, do you see the Geometry column and it's empty Are the other columns populated
DivyaJyoti Rajdev
So turns out, when I was trying to import *.sbdf, the geometry column was somehow getting picked up as string. When I changed that to binary again, it worked out well. Thanks for the testing.
Nathan Burnett
thank you for sharing. i just tested in 7.14 and it worked. there was one extra step for me. when i imported the .sbdf that i had created, i had to change the column which held the polygon from binary to location in the data panel to view the shape.
