Francisco Aspillaga
Hi,If I have multiple charts in a worksheet, can I filter data for just one specific chart? With the filter bar I only see that it filters all the graphics simultaneously.Thank you,
Fredrik Rosell
Hello,You can use filtering schemes to achieve that (see Analyst manual https://docs.tibco.com/pub/sfire-analyst/12.1.1/doc/html/en-US/TIB_sfire-analyst_UsersGuide/index.htm#t=filter%2Ffilter_filtering_schemes.htm for more information about filtering schemes)To quote the manual:"You have the possibility to add your own filtering schemes, which can be applied to the analysis per page or per visualization. This gives you the complete freedom to control which pages and visualizations will affect each other. You can set up the filtering schemes to work on any combination of visualizations and/or pages in your analysis. For example, you can keep all the visualizations on all the pages related by using the same filtering scheme for all of them, or, you can choose to specify different filtering schemes for all the visualizations in an analysis, or any combination in between these two extremes" Here's an example:Create two filtering schemes - let's call them FS1 and FS2 (Filtering scheme and Filtering scheme(2) in my screenshot below)Create two identical plots - let's call them Plot1 and Plot2 (hint: Ctrl+U is a quick way to duplicate/clone a visualization) For each plot > open Properties > Data > Limit data using filterings, select the corresponding filtering scheme (e.g. for Plot1, select FS1). Now Plot1 is only affected by filtering in FS1, Plot2 by filtering in FS2.Now we can e.g. test filtering on a column - Population - in FS2, and it only affects Plot2. Note: if needed, a way to make filtering less confusing for the end users now could be to just show the filters you expect to be used in a text area. When inserting a filter in a Text Area, you can select what filtering scheme to use. In the example below, I have made the Population filters for both filtering schemes available. Solution Gaia Paolini Posted December 16, 2022 Solution Share Posted December 16, 2022 you can also set up charts to 'ignore current filtering' if you do not want any filtering to be applied to those. Untick all the boxes under 'Limit data using filtering' in the Properties > Data tab.
