Jennifer Young 2
Hi, There's gotta be something I'm missing here. How do you create a geographic heat map (meaning, a heat map like the one attached) in Spotfire. So far, Spotfire has really impressed me with it's mapping capabilities. Is there a way to create such a map in Spotfire Best, Jen
Kirsten Smith (she/her)
Heatmap map charts are not as straight-forward in Spotfire as regular map charts. We cannot currently read this type of data from shapefiles, since they don't contain geometry information, so you would need to either use an image that could be used as an Image Layer, or the data would need to be stored in a WMS service that you could import into Spotfire. Lorenzo Antonetti Clarucci
Hi Jen, A way to represent a heatmap on a map chart can be done using a feature layer ruled with squares, so that each square is colored accordingly. Hope this helps, Lorenzo

Arnaud Varin
This can currently be done using a data function. We have 2 data functions available from Community Exchange that might help you: https://community.spotfire.com/modules/spatial-density-map-data-function-ti... https://community.spotfire.com/modules/spatial-heat-map-data-function-tibco...
