Spotfire is not bringing data from table after creating column matches.

Hi everyone,

I have two data tables (Table 1 and Table 2)for which I created 3column matches (Columns A, B, C). After matching the columns, I extracted a Start Time columnfrom Table 1 and added it to Table 2, because I wanted to see the Start Time for the matches. My system was working fine, however, I've noticed that some Start Time data from Table 1 is not showing up on Table 2 even though the matching from Columns A, B, and C are working. Does anyone have an idea for what could be the driver of this problem.I will include below an example so you can better understand my issue.

Step - Column A - Column B - Column C - Start Time

Step 1 - Pink - Blue - Green - 12/16/20 7:00

 

Table 2:

Step - Owner - Column A - Column B - Column C - Start Time

Step 1 - Jane Doe - Pink - Blue - Green - (empty)

Did you use the "insert column" method Which join method did you use Maybe you joined only on 1st occurrence...

Can you also make sure that all entries are correct If you have something like an additional SPACE for example the match will not work ("Pink " or " Pink" does not match "Pink"). Use the strip function on all your columns if this is the case.

Thanks for responding! I will definitely try that today. For the matching I added the columns by using the 'Transform' option, as for the joining I used "Left Outer Join" because I'm only interested on capturing the matched rows.
