Advanced External Workspaces Execution for Spotfire Statistica® 1.0.0

1 Screenshot

Summary

This important Statistica node is expanding significantly the options for running external workspaces. With this node, you can implement tasks like conditional running, parameterizing, running more workspaces as one job, or even run workspace in the loop

Overview

This item is extending Statistica nodes palette with a special advanced node called "Run Workspace" capable of executing other workspace or workspaces. It is a functionality extension to out of the box "Execute External Workspace"  node.  Node "Run Workspace"' is making feasible various use cases mainly connected with automation of tasks/processes and templatization of work. This node is addressing several most voted Statistica ideas on ideas portal

Here are the main scenarios where "Run Workspace" node can be leveraged:

  • Run other workspace or workspaces
  • Run other workspace with parameters
  • Run other workspace conditionally
  • Run workspace in a loop
  • Execute special workspace in case of an error in currently running workspace

This node is used extensively by every Statistica Pharma customer, helping to create more complex applications and reusing one workspace for more purposes, useful even for more clever Spotfire data functions. Nevertheless, this powerful node can be beneficially used in any industry.

Functionality and content

The "Run Workspace" is a comprehensive node that can cover many use cases. In order to clarify and give you best potential for your implementations we have created examples covering the main scenarios and various types of settings of the node. All of the examples have also a workspace file(s) which you can open, check, and reproduce in your environment.

Here are the topics for 8 examples covered by release files:

  • Run one external workspace
  • Execute external workspace vs Run Workspaces
  • Any result data function
  • Run multiple workspaces
  • Conditional run
  • Parameterize external workspace
  • Loop
  • Run workspace in case of an error

Part of the release is also a script for gathering parameters from any node in the workspace, documentation and tutorial explanations, and the license file.

Remark: Detailed descriptions of most of these examples can be found also in this article.
