From Spotfire version 14.1, you can try out the new visualization properties experience, which is currently in development. Instead of using the old Windows dialogs, you can now configure your visualizations from the new immersive visualization properties panel.
Read more in the user guide.

Note: During development, not all visualization properties are available in the panel, and all functionality from the old properties dialogs has not been implemented in the new panel yet.

    Why are we doing this?

We want to improve ease of use, make visualization authoring more efficient, and unify the experience in the web client and the installed client. All properties have one consistent design across all visualization types. We would love to get your opinion along the way. Leave a comment below.

Old and new visualization properties in Spotfire

    Easy to use

The panel only shows properties that are applied to the selected visualizations. This makes it easy to understand how visualizations are configured. You can enrich your visualizations by adding more properties. We hope this design makes it easier to author analyses, for both new and experienced users.

    Searchable

At the top of the panel, you can search for a property or setting that you would like to edit or add. You can edit the properties matching the search directly from the result list.

    Efficient

The properties panel lets you configure multiple selected visualizations simultaneously. You can also reuse configurations across your visualizations through drag and drop.

Two visualizations selected, and visualization properties panel shows settings for both.

    Scalable

The new panel is designed for scale and will allow Spotfire to be extended with more visualization capabilities in the future.

Again, we would love to get your opinion along the way. Leave a comment below.
