  • Energy User Group 09/16/2020

This is the first of a series of events on TIBCO?s Cloud partnerships and initiatives in data management and analytics. These initiatives are moving quickly, accelerated by the OSDU program.

In this event we are focusing on our AWS partnership, with the following set of presentations:

Subsequent events in 2020 will highlight work done with other cloud vendors along with advances in OSDU, and TIBCO products and technologies. We are targeting October for an event focused on MSFT Azure. In 2021, we are excited to host another TIBCO Analytics Forum, hopefully live in Houston !

    10:00am?10.15am CT:

    Michael OConnell, CAO TIBCO

TIBCO has deep partnerships with all the cloud vendors; and the energy sector is an area of focus. For example

    • Schlumberger uses TIBCO as the data management and analytics components in their DELFI platform, with TIBCO Data Virtualization and TIBCO Spotfire
    • IHS runs their data services using TIBCO on AWS
    • Petro.AI has deployments on Azure and AWS incorporating TIBCO Spotfire
    • Enel runs their Smart Data Grid on TIBCO and AWS including TIBCO Spotfire and AWS Cloudwatch

A few recent examples of these collaborations can be viewed online eg

    10:15am?10.45am CT:

Brian Alleman, Drilling Engineer, Hunt Oil

Over the last several years, Hunt Oil has drilled and completed over 200 unconventional horizontal wells. Hunt had been using a third-party web service to store and analyze over 64 million rows of time series data generated during fracking. Using a combination of technologies from TIBCO and Amazon Web Services, Hunt replicated the third-party tool in house and reduced cost by over 90%.

Catalina Herrera, TIBCO and Liz Dennett, AWS

Data is fueling subsurface innovation, yet getting the data into a format that enables novel analytical approaches and enables end-users to focus on using novel data insights to solve problems is a key challenge.  The Open Group OSDU? Forum is developing a standard data platform for the oil and gas industry, which will reduce data silos and put data at the center of the subsurface community.

In this presentation, we discuss how working backwards with our customers and partners has fed into the vision of the OSDU Energy Data Platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS).  We will highlight the work that Tibco has done as an OSDU on AWS co-developer to support accelerated subsurface insights, and provide a demo showcasing Spotfire integration for OSDU on AWS

TIBCO NOW Preview, Michael O?Connell, CAO, TIBCO
