    Select tables and/or reports:

    Note that:

Most tables have a large number of columns. Try removing all columns and then adding only the columns you need.

You can change column names as needed by clicking the pen icon. If you erase the new name the original name will be returned.

Use prompts to let end users limit the amount of rows retrieved.

Use the preview function to ensure you get the data you expect.

Once you click ok any prompts defined will be loaded and you are able to select values from them:

    Start visualizing your data.

When you are ready to save the analysis, review how you prefer data to be loaded in the Source View:

"Always new data" is default which means no data is stored in the analysis file. Each time the analysis is opened data will be loaded from Salesforce.com.

"New data when possible" stores the latest data set in the analysis file but it's only used if the data source can't be reached or if the user decides to skip data loading when opening the analysis file by selecting the "Use stored data" option.

"Stored data" will load the data that was most recently stored in the analysis file. This option lets end users choose when they which to reload data.

The Source View is also where data can be refreshed manually.

The above is also available for on premises users holding a Business Author license.
